What is Live Rosin?

Posted by CANNASaver on Monday, 23 May 2022 in Canna Blog

Maybe you’ve heard of live rosin and wondered what it was. Simply, it is the caviar of cannabis. And, much like the food, it can also be somewhat expensive. Indeed, it may be the costliest item in many dispensaries

However, there are some excellent wax concentrate deals, including live rosin deals. So, what is live rosin? Are there good deals?? Is it worth it?

What’s the deal? Why does it cost more than other concentrates?

These are good questions that will get answered shortly.

You may have some confusion between resin and rosin. Then there’s live resin versus live rosin.

We’ll clear all that up.

Want to know what you do with it? Are you curious as to how to consume this cannabis concentrate?

Details will follow.

Finally, we’ll make getting some of this high-end weed wax for yourself easy on your bud budget.

What is Rosin?

There are many different dab waxes. There’s shatter, budder, crumble, and resin – to name a few.

Briefly, here’s the lowdown on each.

Shatter is a glassy and brittle wax. It’s a popular choice for dabbers because it’s easy to break into small pieces. This solid is considered very pure.

Budder is opaque butane hash oil. Like table butter, this concentrate is spreadable. That makes it easy to use in joints as well as dabbing.

Aptly named, crumble is a soft wax. It too is easy to use in small bits for dabs.

Resin is a dark, sticky concentrate. It is made from dried and cured cannabis flowers. The live resin variety is made from fresh plants that haven’t been dried or cured.

So, how does rosin differ? Most other waxes use a solvent-based extraction process. However, with rosin, the extracting is done without solvent

The lack of any residual solvent, the purity, is what makes it popular. Like organic food, fans like the absence of additives. It is all-natural.

Heat and pressure on dried and cured marijuana flower are used to produce rosin. The result is a yellow, soft, and sticky solid. Depending on the amounts of heat and pressure, it can be semi-liquid.

Like some of the other dab waxes, its softness makes it pretty easy to dab.

Now, what makes the ‘live’ kind different?

Live Rosin Versus Rosin

Both versions are made in a solvent-less manner. So, what’s the difference? The freshness of the source plants is key.

While rosin uses dried and cured cannabis, live rosin uses pot plant material that is neither dried nor cured. Both are somewhat organic, but the ‘live’ type is even purer.

Both are made similarly. Each is akin to hash. Hash is pressed kief. The pressed plant matter is rosin.

All undergo pressure during production.

Live rosin starts with a fresh frozen cannabis crop. Freezing keeps the plants and the all-important trichomes from degrading while stored.

Next, producers wash the still-frozen cannabis in ice water. This extracts the trichomes from the flower. Then the separated trichomes are left to dry. The process results in bubble hash.

Finally, heat and pressure are applied for the final step. Those that make their live rosin by hand often use a flat iron, also known as a straightener. The pressure and heat cause the trichomes to burst.

The oils released from the above step are filtered through a mesh. The hash oil runs onto parchment paper where it cools. It can now be used in dabbing.

So, how then does live rosin differ from live resin?

What’s the Difference Between Live Resin and Live Rosin?

If you’re buying concentrates, you want to be sure you’re getting what you’re after. Knowing the differences between waxes is important. Live resin and live rosin are distinctly different things.

Since they both have the word ‘live’ and are spelled similarly, it is easy to confuse the two. Keep in mind, though, that resin uses a solvent to process.

Rosin does not.

The ‘live’ in both names refers to the freshness of the cannabis.

In both cases, there’s no drying or curing of the plant material before processing.

But their coloration is not the same. Live resin tends to be white or pale yellow. The other is more amber-colored.

The consistency of both is soft. Live rosin tends to be sticky. Live resin varies in texture. Sometimes it resembles wet crystals. Other times it can be more like sap.

Experience will eventually help you spot the differences between the two waxes.

Now that you have a good idea of what live rosin is, how do you consume this concentrate?

How to Enjoy Live Rosin

Principally, this wax is dabbed.

Most marijuana waxes (concentrates) are dabbed. Dabbing uses a bong-like device with a nail instead of a bowl. The nail is heated and then the concentrate is placed on that nail where it vaporizes. Then you breathe in the vapors just like taking a bong hit.

How else could you use it?

You could put some in a pipe or bong bowl and smoke it that way. That’s not an uncommon practice.

Can you eat it?

If they are decarbed, then waxes can be consumed orally. They must be heated until activated. Then concentrates can be mixed into food and just eaten directly.

However, when consuming cannabis you have to wait longer for the effects to kick in. Dabbing or smoking provides benefits within minutes. When used orally, there can be some immediate sublingual effects.

But the full effects can take a half-hour to an hour for the benefits to kick in.

What’s the Deal with Live Rosin?

Live rosin is popular because of its purity. Solventless extracts are considered all-natural.

Like all concentrates, this one is high in THC. That gives you more powerful effects than smoking straight leaf.

It is different from regular rosin in that it doesn’t use dried and cured plant matter. .it uses fresh, frozen cannabis.

The extraction method uses ice water. Then the resulting bubble hash is heated and pressed to produce the oil.

It has a different color and consistency. Those characteristics should help you distinguish it from other waxes.

Now, as we noted it does tend to cost more than some other waxes. But here is where we can help you out.

Check some of the links below for great deals on live rosin. Then get yourself some and dab away!

Mix and Match Ounce

Posted by CANNASaver on Friday, 13 May 2022 in Canna Blog

Wouldn’t it be great if dispensaries had sampler platters like restaurants? Mix and match ounce deals are much the same idea. You can build your own assorted ounce packets and get great ganja deals!

So, you could buy, say, a quarter of one strain and a half of another. You do this until you’ve built up to an ounce total.

Cannabis stores offer their biggest overall discounts on ounces. Normally it costs more to buy smaller amounts of weed versus the savings on a whole ounce.

By building your own ounce you get savings and some variety.

Why would a provisioning center do this? To encourage you to buy more marijuana.

It’s a weed win-win!

Let’s delve deeper into these dank deals.

Ways to Weigh a Mix and Match Ounce

Experienced cannabis consumers understand how flower is sold. Newbies may not fully understand. Weed weights aren’t overly complicated.

Everything is either grams or portions of an ounce

  • Usually, other than a gram, one of the smallest measurements of marijuana bud is an eighth. That’s 3.5 grams. That’s a few pipe bowls, bong hits, or rolled joints worth of weed.
  • Next is the quarter. Quarters equal 7 grams. If you smoke somewhat steadily, a quarter will probably get you through a weekend. Say, a dozen doobies.
  • A half is 14 grams. That’s roughly a week’s worth of weed unless you’re pretty frugal. Now we’re looking at dozens of bong bowls.
  • An ounce itself is 28 grams. It’s a popular size because for most it’s enough marijuana to last you a good while.
  • And, incidentally, a pound is 16 ounces. That equals 448 grams. That’s a bunch of buds and should keep you toking for a good long time.

With mix and match specials, there are different ways dispensaries break down the weights.

For example, some sellers may run specials to build an ounce in half-ounce increments. Others may allow you to put together eights, quarters, or halves.

There are even specials with discounts on 2 ounces. Those let you select two different ounces for the total purchase.

It is important to read the deal details carefully, so you know what amounts are applicable.

How else can you build your bud bundle?

Mixing and Matching Strains

What’s another way to mix your promo? By considering different strains, of course. It would make no sense to divide up the same strain.

So, what others should you consider?

Strains are divided into indicas, sativas, and hybrids

Indicas

Indicas can be relaxing or sedating. They tend to produce what’s called a body high. They are a high-CBD variety.

Nighttime is the right time for smoking this weed. It works well before bed to promote sleepiness. The term couch-locked is applicable for a strong indica. It means that you’re so relaxed you don’t want to get off the couch.

They are also used to reduce anxiety.

Sativas

Sativas are stimulating. The buzz is more in the brain, euphoric. They are a high-THC weed strain.

This kind of cannabis aids concentration. It is also great at combatting depression.

Say you wanted some energy for cleaning the house. Smoking sativa would be the way to go. Its energizing effects make it an ideal daytime strain.

Hybrids

Hybrids are a mix of both indicas and sativas. Some are 50/50, but many are some other combination of high-CBD and high-THC ganja. There are indica-leaning hybrids and there are those that are more sativa-heavy.

Any weed name with ‘haze’ in it is a sativa or sativa-dominant hybrid. If it’s a ‘kush’, then it tends to be an indica or a hybrid that leans that way.

Building your flower collection, you can often mix and match strains. They are all going to be sativas, indicas, or hybrids.

There are a gazillion variants of ganja. Research, and asking your local budtender, are good ways to find out which strains are what kind of weed.

New strains are appearing all the time. Growers often crossbreed strains to produce new subspecies.

Often, the dispensary will have a list of different strains you can choose from. You then use these to build your budget bundle.

Knowing what each kind is will help you pick the ones you want or need. Never be afraid to ask questions, so you know what you’re getting.

Now, how can you find places that are offering specials?

How to Find Great Mix and Match Ounce Deals

Cannasaver is a great site to find discounted cannabis goodies. If you want to find combination ounce specials near you, there are several ways to do so.

You can type ‘mix and match’ in the upper lefthand search bar. Just below that is a map icon that you can click to narrow results down to your location. If there are deals in your city, this will help you find them.

Another way to find these deals is by using the dropdown menu next to the topmost search box. This menu offers ‘Deals Near Me’ and ‘Ounce Deals’ as options. Either of these selections could get you to listings of weed store savings on bud bundles.

What kind of discount you are looking for? Searching Cannasaver pages will help you find what’s out there.

Now you have some things to think about. Putting together a bud bundle on a budget can be done. Provisioning center promotional rules may dictate how discount weed is divided up. But if you have flexibility, you have some idea of ways to put it all together.

Ounces are divided up by eighths, quarters, halves, and wholes. Sometimes promotions are for multiple ounces. Other times, you’re dividing up a single ounce. Read offers carefully, so you know what your options are.

If you want some variety in your stash, these deals are ideal! You can sometimes choose between indicas, sativas, or hybrids. Again, your local retailer may give you a list of strains to choose from. Know your cannabis and choose the variants that you want.

Pre Roll Prices

Posted by CANNASaver on Monday, 28 February 2022 in Canna Blog

If you're trying to save some money on weed, you're probably considering pre-rolls. Here's all you need to know about pre-rolls, including pre-roll prices.

We'll start with the basics...

What is a Pre Roll?

A pre-roll is basically a cannabis joint that has been rolled ahead of time by the supplier or dispensary.

It basically saves the consumer the time needed to grind up the leaf, purchase the wrapper, and roll it oneself.

Pre-rolls from a dispensary are usually made by special machines, but can also be made by hand. The machine produces a superior product compared to hand-rolled ones. Many cannabis consumers have liked the convenience of prepackaging for the pre-roll.

In the past, consumers stayed away from pre-rolls since they were made from “shake” or low-grade cannabis, stems, and excess leaves (the extra pieces at the bottom of the weed jars). However, with the development of quality cannabis dispensaries, pre-rolls have now gained popularity, since quality weed is now being used to create the pre-rolls.

Even what we call “shake” these days is of great quality.

Anatomy of a Pre Roll

Pre-rolls can contain any type of flower material. Different types of pre-rolls can have additional concentrates, such as wax, added to the inside or outside of the pre-roll. Adding concentrates adds to the potency of the pre-roll.

Many types of pre-rolls can be purchased, such as joints, blunts, spliffs, etc. Note that all these types of pre-rolls can be of various sizes.

Some of the pre-rolls have filters, in cannabis terms called a “crutch.”

Classic joints involve rolling white paper, which can now be made of various materials, including hemp, soy, rice, and flaxseed (also referred to as flax). There are also clear rolling papers made from plant cellulose. The benefit of the cellulose paper is the ability to see the cannabis; however, some users claim that it affects the taste of the joint and they can even taste the cellulose.

How Much Weed is in a Pre Roll Joint?

The amount of cannabis in a joint can vary from 0.25 grams to 1.5 grams.

This is in contrast to a blunt, which usually contains 1-2 grams. As you notice, the amount of cannabis can vary, but overall, a blunt has more cannabis, even though it is not always the case. A pre roll may not contain as much, but you’re not going to “burn” through your weed as fast – pun intended.

Pre Roll vs Blunt

The major difference between a blunt and a joint involves the rolling paper that is used. A blunt is rolled with cigar paper (also called blunt paper). There is an obvious difference since the wrapping paper is brown and much thicker. The paper is made out of tobacco and gives the user that extra “kick” when smoking. The tobacco-made wrapping paper helps the blunt burn slower than a joint There are numerous flavors of blunt paper including different kinds of fruit flavors. Usually, the blunts are larger than joints, but that is not always the case.

The thinner rolling paper used for a joint does not contain tobacco. The blunts contain tobacco because it’s present in the rolling paper, not because of tobacco added to the cannabis.

Pre Roll vs Spliff

When tobacco is added to cannabis, a spliff is created. Basically, a spliff is a joint that contains cannabis and has added tobacco, unlike joints that contain only cannabis. The addition of tobacco gives the spliff a peppy lift. A spliff can be rolled from white rolling paper or a cigar (blunt) wrap.

So now that we have that down, the question is whether or not to roll yourself, or should you just purchase a pre-roll?

Are the convenience and pros of a pre-roll worth it, compared to the cons?

We’ll let you decide whether or not pre rolls are worth it, but we do think they’re definitely a better deal these days, given the quality of weed and even “shake,” which is what pre rolls used to be made up of most.

Let’s discuss some positives and negatives about pre-rolls.

Advantages to Pre Rolls

  • The most important and obvious positive is the convenience of not having to roll. You can pick it up at the dispensary, and it’s all ready to use.
  • There is less of a mess. You avoid the problem of excess cannabis left behind.
  • They can be bought in any number you want (to an extent), and can even be bought in packs, similar to a pack of cigarettes.
  • They are easy to take on the go, especially for traveling.
  • It’s less likely a machine pre-roll will open and release its contents. This is very important when traveling to a state or country where recreational cannabis is not legal. You don’t want to enter that state/country with cannabis leaf particles on your person.
  • There are great prices for pre-rolls if you know where to look (hint: We have many on our website, which is probably why you’re here).
  • Some consumers with certain medical conditions are not able to roll a joint, blunt, or spiff on their own.
  • There is such a wide variety available to satisfy any cannabis consumer.

Disadvantages to Pre Rolls

  • You can’t be positive about what kind of cannabis is in the pre-roll unless you were to cut it open.
  • If you’re not familiar with the dispensary, you could end up receiving pre-rolls with low-grade cannabis, stem, or excess leaf. If you stick to the dispensaries on our website, this is much less likely to occur.
  • Pre-rolls tend to go stale faster since they are not sold in well-sealed containers. It is up to the consumer to find some sort of airtight storage container, once home. Mason jars have traditionally been a great choice.

The million-dollar question is whether you should or should not purchase a pre-roll. Does the convenience outweigh the negatives? Do they actually end up being less expensive than just rolling it yourself?

Well, the answer is that depends on the person. My suggestion is to purchase and try them. See what you think. Before giving them the shove aside, I would definitely recommend trying a pre-roll.

Most pre-rolls consist of 1 gm, and prices will vary just as the different strains cost different prices.

If you want ideas on which pre-rolls to purchase, check out suggestions in the middle of this article: Tips on how to spot a quality pre-roll.

Colorado State Regulations mandate that (recreational) edibles come packaged in no larger than 100 milligrams of THC doses with identifiable portions. The most common measurement is 10 mg in a bite. Most products will be portioned out or have a clear dosing schedule on the label.

The exception is for tinctures and syrups which can run up to 1000 milligrams of THC in a bottle. These infused liquids will also have a measuring syringe so you can achieve the precise dosing you desire. Most single-serve drinks such as soda pops or lemonades are dosed at 10 milligrams of THC in a bottle.

What does it all mean though? What is the best bang for your buck?

Learn about edibles

The Most Cost-Effective Type of Edibles

Tinctures and syrups are the most potent and cost-effective way to ingest THC.

By volume, strength, and price, syrup, or tincture will be the strongest type of edible you can get! These are liquids infused with THC and CBD and have the highest concentrations. The flavors are pretty good and usually resemble a sweet concoction to help this medicine go down smoothly. The activation times range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and the doses are measured by syringe or capful.

You can find up to 1000 mg containers from between $45 to $70 dollars. A 100 mg syrup can be found for as low as $15!

Drinks contain the least THC with about 10 mg in a bottle but are convenient and great for lighter social flights.

Typical Prices for Other Edibles

For the pan-baked experience, there is a plethora of brownies, cookies, bars, chocolates, and stroopwafels which are doled out in 100 mg containers are the tastiest and most versatile option. These baked goods go from $6 for a bar of single-serving chocolate to an average price of $22 for a full 100 mg package of multiple cookies or chocolates. These offerings have a sufficient amount of THC in the whole package to remind you of your aunt’s space cake, but ultimately you can decide how many bites until your preferred high.

This article starts off with the lightest infusions and saves the heaviest hitters for last.

Your taste buds will dance when a Cannabis-Infused Cola splashes over your tongue. There are many flavors to choose from such as classic, orange kush, root beer, blue razz, and purple passion. These drinks are at the higher end of the scale as far as milligrams per dollar but are great for first-timers and social buzzes. These drinks cost around $8-$10. Drinks are usually portioned at 10 mg of THC content, which is the lower end of the spectrum. You can also find bagged teas infused with cannabis. There are also strictly CBD drinks with no psychoactive effect. Those are a little cheaper. Thursdays are a good day to quench your thirst and coupons range from 10% to 25% off. Top Shelf Strains

Seasoned stoners are always looking for ‘the next best strain’ to complete their stash. If you smoke regularly, you may be looking for something that’s a little more rare and has different terpenes and flavonoids than other stains. Whether you’re searching for quality weed to serve at an upcoming get-together or something new to try by yourself, we’ve got you covered!

We here at Cannasaver feature the best [medical & recreational] strain suppliers across the nation (within legalized states), with exceptional coupons and offers from the best dispensaries. We are your one-stop shop for all things cannabis and can help you find the best top-shelf strains on the market today.

Weed strains come in four main categories, or shelves, if you will:

In some dispensaries, however, top shelf and private reserve are usually put together, as both types are premium quality.

Top-shelf is a cannabis grade of the highest quality that has great potency, and it’s very easy to find. Most dispensaries have their featured top-shelf strains. It’s usually placed on the highest shelf of the store (hence the title), kind of like how alcohol is organized at bars.

Top shelf strains are cultivated either indoors or outdoors by experienced growers who know the conditions favorable for creating potent strains with great terpenes and flavonoids.

Factors Determining Top Shelf Weed

Several elements affect the growth of top shelf weed. These include:

Genes

Selective breeding of quality strains over long periods yields better hybrids of higher potency.

Soil

Nutrient-rich, healthy soil with an abundance of microbes produces top-shelf weeds.

Nutrients

Regularly providing weed with nutrients like nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorous through fertilizers at the right time produces buds of high quality.

Drying and Curing

Proper post-harvest handling is key to preserving trichomes and ensures the genetically superior flower smells, tastes, and smokes like a top-shelf variety.

Top-Shelf Strains You Should Try

Each dispensary will have a different variety of top shelf strains that they either perfected themselves or perhaps just carry classic strains. Here are some to try out, if you haven't (of course, options will vary based on dispensary):

Khalifa Khush

Khalifa Khush is a hybrid marijuana strain that was specifically bred for the rapper Wiz Khalifa. This is why it is also referred to as “KK,” “Wiz Khalifa,” or “Wiz Khalifa OG.”

This strain is said to descend from an unknown OG strain. It was previously unavailable to the public, but limited amounts have recently been made public through select partners.

Khalifa Kush’s gives an active cerebral buzz ideal for morning and daytime use. It has a pine and sour lemon scent that is similar to that of OG Kush.

Pancakes

This is a hybrid strain bred by Seed Junkie Genetics and Cookies. It is named after its delicious aroma, which smells like warm pancakes.

The strain has a buttered, sweet berry flavor profile and a batter-like aroma that reminds you of a fresh batch of pancakes. The high you experience from smoking Pancakes can be described as a relaxing head high.

Pancake buds are short and bulky, with golden brown shades brightened by frosty trichomes. Patients needing medical marijuana use Pancakes to fight symptoms of chronic stress and anxiety.

Pink Certz

Pink Certz is a visual stunner that smells like hyper-flavorful pink candy mint. The strain combines The Menthol and Grape Gasoline to give you an instant mental vacation that helps get your head back in the game.

You can use it day or night, making it super versatile. Its flavor composition of mint, grape candy, and gas terps sets this strain up for boxes of cannabis trophies this year and the next.

Jealousy

Hey, Jealousy!

The Gin Blossoms knew what they were talking about – Jealousy combines two perfect versions of Gelato and Sherbert because that’s what the folks crave.

Jealousy offers everything you’d want from a JBeezy collection and is perfect for flexing on Instagram. Watch out for the evil eye, though, as Gelato haters are still gonna hate!

Strawberry Remedy #9

Exotic is all about taking risks and winning awards with new creations to heal the masses. It’s more than just GSC genetics folded back on each other like knotted bread.

Oregon’s Chalice Brands took first place in the Oregon Growers Club with Strawberry Remedy #9. This new strain is a rare 1:1 CBD: THC flower for that high-strung person in your life.

Trade that high-THC tachycardia with this Strawberry field x Dragon Desert Frost cross. Strawberry Remedy #9 has a refreshing strawberry smoothie taste that is perfect for a relaxing daytime yoga sesh free of anxiety.

Forbidden Mintz

This strain is a cross between Forbidden Fruit and SinMint Cookies bred by SinCity Seeds. Forbidden mint sports fruity flavor compounds of sweet cherry, passionfruit, mango, and pine. This sweet Indica strain brings about a reflective and chill state of mind.

Zkittelz Mintz

After putting up with a tough day at work, loosen up with a rewarding after-work smoke courtesy of  Washington’s award-winning Three Rivers Cannabis (3RC).

These SinCity Seeds strain sports a creamy gas and sweet grapefruit finish. Zkittelz Mintz is a cross between Zkittlez and Animal Mints. It is the ideal strain to help get you through those short, bleak days.

Gator Breath

This heady hybrid strain is a cross between a special Triangle Kush phenotype and Motorbreath. It has dark, chunky, and verdant buds that are sticky with trichomes.

Consumers of this strain say that it makes them feel active, talkative, and tingly. Gator Breath has 1% THC and 26% CBG. Caryophyllene is the dominant terpene in this strain that gives it its gassy and pungent buttery notes.

Medical marijuana patients use this strain to help with insomnia and eye pressure. It draws its origin from the Jungle Boys.

Kush Sorbet

Kush Sorbet is an uplifting, hazy, and hard-hitting strain created by crossing Triangle Kush with Sunset Sherbet. This dank and delicious strain provides your entire body with the most invigorating feeling.

It provides both mental and physical sensations of calmness and euphoria. Kush Sorbet packs a mighty punch, with THC levels ranging between 18.7%-22.7%.

Where to Buy Weed

Where to Buy Weed

Posted by CANNASaver on Friday, 09 September 2022 in Canna Blog

You feel the need to get yourself some weed. Okay, but where-oh-where can you buy bud and other pot products? That is an excellent question.

You need to know how exactly to go about getting ganja. Stoner stores are called dispensaries or provisioning centers. For some medical patients, there are also caregivers who can get ganja on a patient’s behalf.

But what are the requirements for these marijuana merchandisers and pot providers? We’ll let you know the conditions under which you can buy from cannabis shops.

And what states have legalized recreational and/or medical sales? Is your state one of them? Do these states allow visitors to buy weed? These are all important points to ponder.

Knowing the answers to all the above, you now must ask the most important question of all. That is, how can you save money buying marijuana? Cannasaver can definitely help you there!

Let’s start with how you go about getting some of the good stuff.

where to buy recreational weed

How To Buy Weed

Buying ganja at a dispensary isn’t exactly like going to the grocery store. There’s still a federal prohibition on pot. So, state dispensaries have strict rules they have to abide by. That means cannabis consumers have to know local laws.

In most states, there is an age requirement for weed procuring and use. 21 years old is the standard, generally.

Provisioning centers are licensed for medical marijuana, recreational or both. Some states offer medical and some also allow casual consumption. We’ll cover which ones offer what momentarily.

Those locations that require cards have set fees and procedures for obtaining them. Medical authorization requires a doctor’s certification for potential patients. Time frames for the process of getting a card vary.

Regardless of whether you are required to have a physician’s authorization to purchase weed store merchandise or not, you will need cash. The Federal prohibition mentioned above means banks won’t allow credit or debit card use.

Once you are legally compliant and have some cash to spend, you just need to find a dispensary to shop at.

So, which states have what kind of weed stores? Do you know what your local laws allow? Let’s look.

What States Can You Buy Weed In Right Now?

Here is a sampling of states and what they allow. Because some states’ laws are changing, the list is not entirely comprehensive.

Several states that were strictly medical to start have added recreational. In certain locations, new legislation may be forthcoming to legalize. It’s always best to check your local laws to be sure.

The following places have pot laws allowing purchases from provisioning centers.

Arizona

• This state passed medical marijuana laws in 2010, with sales beginning in 2012.

Recreational sales were okayed in 2020.

• Though there are medical exceptions for minors, the age for legal use is 21. For younger people, parents or guardians can be appointed as caregivers.

• Limits include 2.5 ounces every two weeks for pot patients. It's an ounce per dispensary visit for recreational users. No more than 5 grams in concentrates, extracts, and edibles is the rule.

Arkansas

• Arkansas voted in prescribed pot in 2017, with the first licensed stores opening in 2019.

• Yep, you gotta be at least twenty-one years old.

• Thus far there is no casual use allowed. But there is a ballot initiative for recreational sales and possession in 2022.

• Restrictions stipulate 2.5 ounces of flower for cardholders every 14 days.

buy weed in colorado

Colorado

• It was back in 2000 that Coloradans were allowed to purchase pot with a physician’s prescription. Recreational use was okayed in 2012.

• The legal age is, as in most places, 21.

• It is legal to purchase and possess no more than an ounce of marijuana for non-medical consumers. Those with a med card can have 2 ounces.

Illinois

Medical marijuana was approved for the Land of Lincoln in 2013. Recreational weed followed in January 2020.

• The minimum age is the same as the above states.

• Card-carrying cannabis users can have can get 2.5 ounces every two weeks. All others can only buy and own an ounce. Between flower, edibles, and concentrates there is a cap of 500mg of total THC for both.

Maryland

• This state has had pot for patients since 2014. Recreational ganja is on tap for a November 2022 ballot initiative

• 18 is the legal age here for medical certification.

• 120 grams is the restriction for possession. That’s specified for every 30 days.

Michigan

• The mitten state has both kinds of marijuana available. Cards for prescribed cannabis use have been available since 2009. Casual use was signed into law in 2018.

• You will have to have reached your twenty-first birthday to enjoy either kind of weed in Michigan.

• Whether a patient or just a stoner, 2.5 ounces is the max amount of pot you can possess at any one time.

Minnesota

Medical was legalized in 2014. Otherwise only edibles made from hemp with less than 50mg total THC are okay. Smoking weed without a card is thus far still illegal in 2022.

• If you’re 18 or over, you can get a prescription from your doctor in Minnesota and then apply for a med card.

• Qualified citizens can get and keep up to two and a half ounces of herb every couple of weeks.

Missouri

• 2018 was the year that physician-prescribed pot was voted into law. This is another place with recreational use on the ballot in 2022.

• The acceptable age is twenty-one or older.

• Here you can have a generous 4 ounces per month.

Oklahoma

• Ok, this is the last state we’ll cover. This jurisdiction, too, has medical use marijuana but nothing for non-patients. Yet. There is a proposal on the 2022 ballot.

• 21-year-olds and older can get qualified for med cards.

Qualifying people with a state license can carry 3 ounces, personally. They are allowed up to 8 oz. at home. 1 ounce is the restriction for concentrates and edibles cannot be more than 72 ounces.

Many other places are in the process of legalizing some form of cannabis. So, it’s a good idea to check out your local laws.

Is there anything else you need to know about getting yourself some ganja? Well, what about stoner shopping on vaycay?

Can You Buy Weed On Vacation?

So, you decide to travel but want to toke. Can you buy weed with an out-of-state license?

The short answer is ‘sometimes’. Many states do allow marijuana purchases for tourists.

Those that have recreational generally will let a visitor purchase with a valid ID.  And many medical states will allow vacationing patients to use their home state certification to buy cannabis.

Of the states highlighted above, Arkansas, Nevada, and Oklahoma allow visitor purchases.

Whenever you’re traveling, check the local laws to be sure.

At this point, the only thing left to learn is where to get great ganja deals.
