Indica Strains for Pain

Posted by CANNASaver on Monday, 19 July 2021 in Canna Blog

If you are one of many Coloradoans who suffer from chronic aches/pain. These types of ailments challenge those who suffer from them daily.

Modern pain solutions tend to be things such as heavy-duty painkillers. And I promise you, they absolutely can do more negative than positive

Though it should be known, pain relief from marijuana will feel different from person to person. One strain may work better for some than others. Sometimes pain relief isn’t felt enough with consuming cannabis.

Marijuana vs Opioids

Opioids are medications typically prescribed for pain relief from nerve-related problems. These are often called painkillers. The problem that continues to rise every day in our country is that opioids are extremely addictive.

But the light does shine...

Our Fair Lady Mary Jane offers a powerful and natural alternative to opioids (for most people, not all). Our bodies naturally make endocannabinoids and are received through our endocannabinoid system. When it comes to pain management, everyone is going to be different in terms of situation and biology. This system acts to maintain balance in our bodies.

Masterclass Pain-Relieving Indica Strains

Alright, so we've established that marijuana can really help alleviate some of that pain you're feeling – more specifically, indica strains. So these are the best indica strains for pain (in our opinion):

Afghan Kush

Afghan Kush is a great way to begin finding pain-relieving strains. Afghan Kush is known to be amazing at removing deep nerve pains. The strain is ideal for users who prefer using cannabis medicinally while unwinding in the evening. Afghan Kush is an ultimate strain for anyone looking to relax and shake off pains.

Blackberry Kush

Blackberry Kush is a tasty, Indica dominant cannabis strain. Blackberry shines with clusters of trichomes. This strain is the epitome of indicas with a powerful couch-lock feeling. This feeling also provides a happy, relaxed mindset, blissful euphoria, which leads to sleepiness. The delicious strain helps best for those who suffer from chronic pain or insomnia.

Bubba Kush

Bubba Kush is a legend among smokers. This wonderful indica strain has a classic rich flavor when smoked and is well-known for its relaxing full-body effects. For this reason, Bubba Kush is also known as a sleeping pill. Bubba Kush also aids with lowering stress.

Death Star

Fear not, this Death Star will only fire lasers of bliss and relief. Not so sure what those pesky Rebels were yelling about.

Death Star is typically high in THC. Consumers can expect a blast of euphoria which promotes a state of blissful relaxation for hours. This force-yielding strain can also help with depression.

9LB Hammer

Like a powerful blow from Thor’s mighty hammer itself, 9lb Hammer is a heavy-hitting sedative, helping those who suffer from insomnia for years now. The strain clocks in between 20-23% THC.

9lb Hammer is a fruity indica that can help alleviate high doses of stress/pain in no time at all. As its name states, 9lb Hammer has heavy effects that last for a while. The strain promotes feelings of euphoria and crushes insomnia like it was nothing!

Master Kush

Master Kush is one of the more known Indica strains for sleep. The experience of Master Kush is often noted as helping with chronic pains in the body. With high THC levels, this strain is extremely potent and can catch you off guard. Not necessarily for first-timers.

Northern Lights

Like a shimmering aurora borealis, Northern Lights is a strain well-known for pain relief/relaxation. The strain is known for giving users a couch-lock and full mental relaxation.  Northern Lights is the perfect strain to unwind after your day.

Because of its popularity, Northern Lights isn’t typically too hard to find. The strain has the ability to ease insomnia, anxiety, depression, and stress.

White Widow

White Widow is my absolute favorite strain. Seriously, if you can try it, do it! It’s famous for a reason.

White Widow is typically used by those who have chronic pains, insomnia, or anxiety/depression.  commonly used by patients with pain and also with insomnia and anxiety. White Widow delivers the consumer into a sense of euphoria. This allows you to feel comfortable/happy as you fall asleep.

How to Get a Medical Marijuana Prescription

Posted by CANNASaver on Monday, 20 September 2021 in

Has this ever happened to you?

One day you’re out for a nice evening stroll when out of nowhere a wild gang of highly trained, rogue opossum ninjas begin to follow you.

They scamper through gutters and people’s yards, hiding in the shadows behind garbage cans stopping but for a brief snack and sip of water only to catch up to you as quickly as they had stopped to break from their pursuit.

You begin to worry a bit and tell yourself it's only the joint that your buddy hooked you up with and it must be some potent ganja, but then you look back again and the opossum gang is still there and getting closer...

So, you begin to run, and in doing so, twist your ankle and fall down.

Then, you look back up and it turns out the opossums weren’t actually trying to catch you but were just neighborhood cats and there was a fish market halfway up the block ahead of you and they knew it was the time that all the excess fish got put in the alley for them to feast on.

But now you’ve got a sprained ankle and feel silly about the whole situation.

Fear not!

Now that you have injured yourself and need to go see a doctor for the pain in your foot, you are well on your way to getting a medical marijuana card.

This situation hasn’t happened to us, but if it did to you, then we are sorry for your pain and possible PTSD from the whole ordeal and we have some good news!

You are more than likely qualified to get your medical marijuana card!!

Benefits of Getting a Medical Marijuana Prescription

Many states are now fully legal both medically and recreationally, however some states still are only medically legal.

For some, having a medical card and being able to legally carry and consume cannabis as the medicine it is, can be the difference between living a happy, productive, pain-medicated life through cannabis and getting a potentially dangerous pain medication prescription

We here at Cannasaver think everyone should have safe access to medicine that fits their life and works with their body and mind.

In this blog, we’ll give you some tips on how to get a medical card in your state and some helpful tips to get you through the process it takes to get one.

If you are thinking about getting your card, we have found that having your medical card can be the difference between a large ticket or worse and being let go by an officer of the law if you are ever in a sticky situation with cannabis.  No pun intended.

There have been times for us that we have been pulled over in a state where cannabis is not recreationally legal but is medical, had our medical card, and been let go with our medicine.

Now, this isn’t always the case and it won’t get you out of a Driving While Under the Influence ticket if the officer deems you are intoxicated (and we strongly discourage you from driving under the influence), but it definitely doesn’t hurt to have if you are ever in any situation.

Conditions for Getting Medical Marijuana Prescription

The first step is acquiring proof that you have a condition that can be treated through medical cannabis.

Luckily, the list is pretty long.

Alzheimer's disease

Appetite loss

Cancer

Crohn's disease

Diseases affecting the immune system like HIV/AIDS or Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Eating disorders such as anorexia

Epilepsy

Glaucoma

Mental health conditions like schizophrenia and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Multiple sclerosis

Muscle spasms

Nausea

Pain

Seizures

Wasting syndrome (cachexia)

How to Get a Medical Marijuana Prescription

Once you have documented proof that you have one or more of these conditions, it’s time to do a Google search of cannabis doctors in your state.  There will probably be a long list of doctors so we recommend picking one near to you.

Oftentimes, these doctors will do events where they travel around the state and see many patients in one day.  We have seen a decrease in the number of doctors in some states where cannabis has become recreationally legal.

After you’ve seen your doctor and have the signed form for the state indicating you are prescribed medical marijuana, you will need to mail it into the licensing office along with your other supporting documents so that they may issue you a medical card.

Why Should I Get My Medical Card Even If It’s Legal In My State?

In many states, there are still benefits to having your medical marijuana card.

For example, in Colorado having your card allows you to buy stronger cannabis products at lower prices

You are allowed to carry more cannabis with you at one time.

You are allowed to grow more plants to produce your medicine.

There isn’t much of a downside to getting your card but only a larger upside.
