There’s a shoe making the rounds on talkshows and celebrity feet in a sort of revival lately, however, it’s not clear we ever really said goodbye. The Air Jørgen, nearing 40 years in existence, is back on top. At the time the shoe deal was signed in 1984, another badass brand of Træsko (Danish clogs) called Holm’s of Dark Night was considered the “Lord of Loafers” among the “cloggers,” a numerous class of unmarried peasants who took service with the forest-based farmers for room and board. At night they danced for small crowds that gathered. Their hierarchy and reputations within their circles depended on the very clogs they wore, often the Fynboe clogs of yore, made from fine Alder wood, with a proboscis point. They wished to catch up to their Welsh and Dutch counterparts in order to finally compete in EuroClog, the transcontinental dancing competition.

Mikkel Jørgen shows off his famous Air Jørgens

There was, however, one rookie clogger, Mikkel Jørgen, who’d come from the lowest parts of East Jutland, who some considered a prodigy. It was reportedly Jørgen’s dance instructor Daisy Falk who appealed to his mother when he originally turned down the licensing agreement with the shoe company Nielsen. The deal was great, one unheard of for a poor clogging farmhand, and Jørgen’s own father called him an idiot for not taking it and threw bong water all over him.

So Jørgen finally caved. Nielsen had just come out with this new technology, called Alder Soles, says Falk. “And so we were gonna call it the ‘Alder Jørgen’” says Falk but it just didn’t “roll off the tunge.” Until one day the company realized how gracefully Jørgen spun and kicked high with his clogs. And it just fit. “The Air Jørgen.”

When Nielsen signed the deal, they were thinking we’d be selling $300 kroner in a year,” recalls Falk. “But we sold $1,260 kroner.”

As legend has it, the cloggers, and more formally, The Feisty Fynboes, a locally incorporated group vying for the EuroClog qualification, actually banned the first Air Jørgens because of a rule concerning the snout and upward bend of the shoe, to conform with the fashion of the times. Jørgen was reportedly fined $4.20 for every performance in his banned clogs and Nielsen gladly paid every time, giddily high to capitalize on free publicity.

But when it comes to the Air Jørgen’s popularity, the rest is obvious history. The clog was a must-have shoe for lowkey, middle-class peasantry in the 80’s and 90’s and even had a few sales in Randers and Aarhus. It helped the clog more widely trickle into pop culture including early b-sides on Tv-2 albums.

The Air Jørgen has seen several iterations since then, and yet the Air Jørgen 1 remains the iconic staple still found on the streets and in country houses of East Jutland. It’s also the subject of the latest film by Benjamin Aflecksen, in theaters now.

Cousin D's Puddin' Pops recipe scores the ultimate chill

Be the life of the pool party with this classic!

Ingredients
4 cups heavy cream
4 cups whole milk
½ cup sugar
½ cup sugar substitute (Stevia, Splenda)
½ cup infused corn syrup (recipe below)
⅓ cup cornstarch (heaping)
1 tbsp flavoring of choice (fruit, coffee, etc.)
Food coloring if desired to match flavor
Fresh fruit or other - add if desired

Directions
Heat everything except for the corn syrup on medium heat until the bubbles begin, but well before a boil. Add and whisk in corn syrup for couple minutes to work into the mix. Everything is going to start to thicken somewhat -- at which point, kill the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Let it cool until you can begin transferring it into your containers. It will continue to thicken as it cools and of course after placed in the freezer. and you can turn the heat off let it cool for a few moments till you can start transferring it into your containers it will continue to thicken as it cools and of course after you place everything in the freezer.

Make these a day before you need them because you want a good 12 hours for a hard freeze. You can find the molds online in a number of shapes. It’s a crowd pleaser on a hot day as long as you have a way to keep them frozen until serving.

To make this a “full-sugar” treat instead use 2 cups sugar and a cup of corn syrup. I also recommend using some fruit to go decadent, but of course this will change your volume. The best result I found was the berries n’ cream flavor, because I chopped up the raspberries and blackberries really well and cooked them directly with the milk and cream, making it simple to pour.

How Weed Helps With Working Out

Weed and working out might sound like an unexpected combination, but they can actually complement each other quite nicely.

Here's why:

  • Motivation, Amplified: Sometimes, getting the motivation to hit the gym or go for a run can be a struggle. That's where weed comes in! While some strains make you want to stay home and eat cereal, certain strains can provide an uplifting effect, helping to kickstart your enthusiasm and get you in the workout groove. It's like having a personal cheerleader in your stash.

  • Pain Relief, Naturally: Let's face it – intense workouts can leave us feeling sore and achy. But fear not, weed can come to the rescue! Some strains have potential pain-relieving properties that may help soothe those post-workout muscle woes. It's like a gentle massage from Mother Nature herself.

  • Mind Over Matter: Weed can also help you get into the zone and improve your focus during workouts. Whether you're doing yoga, lifting weights, or dancing like nobody's watching, certain strains can enhance your mind-body connection, making the experience even more enjoyable and immersive. It's like turning up the volume on your inner zen.

Best Strains for Working Out

Let's explore some weed strains that can take your workout game to the next level.

Remember, everyone's preferences are different, so it's all about finding the strain that works best for you.

Here are a few notable strains to consider:

The Green Energizer

Need a burst of energy for your cardio session?

Look no further than Sour Diesel

This sativa-dominant strain is like a shot of espresso for your workout routine, keeping you focused, motivated, and ready to conquer any challenge that comes your way.

For Relaxing and Unwinding

When it's time to wind down with yoga or a soothing stretching routine, embrace the calming vibes of Northern Lights

This indica strain will help you melt into your mat, releasing tension and promoting a state of pure relaxation.

Get ready to find your inner yogi bliss.

The Recovery Magic

After an intense workout, your body deserves some TLC.

That's where Harlequin comes in.

With its balanced CBD-to-THC ratio, this strain offers potential pain relief and relaxation, aiding in your post-workout recovery.

It's like giving your muscles a warm hug.

The Science Behind Weed and Working Out

Okay, let’s get “sciencey” for a second.

By delving into the science, personal experiences, and success stories, we’re able to gain a deeper understanding of how these two seemingly disparate worlds can intersect.

The effects of weed on the body during exercise

When it comes to weed and working out, understanding how it affects the body during exercise is essential.

Weed interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which plays a crucial role in regulating various physiological processes, including pain perception, mood, and appetite.

The active compounds in weed, such as THC and CBD, bind to cannabinoid receptors in the body, potentially influencing exercise-related factors like pain tolerance, inflammation, and mood.

The impact of weed on motivation and focus

One of the intriguing aspects of using weed in conjunction with exercise is its potential impact on motivation and focus. Some individuals report that specific strains of weed can enhance their mental state, providing a boost of motivation and focus during workouts.

However, it is important to note that the effects can vary from person to person, and finding the right strain and dosage is crucial for achieving the desired results.

Exploring the potential pain-relieving properties of weed in workouts

Pain and discomfort are common during intense workouts or after rigorous physical activity. Weed has been touted for its potential pain-relieving properties, with some studies suggesting that certain strains may help alleviate exercise-induced muscle soreness and inflammation

The analgesic effects of weed can potentially enhance the workout experience by reducing discomfort and allowing individuals to push through challenging training sessions.

Understanding the scientific aspects of weed and its interaction with the body during exercise provides a foundation for further exploration into its potential benefits and considerations when combined with working out. By gaining insights into how weed affects motivation, focus, and pain perception, you can make informed decisions about incorporating it into your fitness routines.

Success Stories: Athletes and Weed

Let’s take a closer look at some athletes who openly endorse or incorporate weed into their workouts/training.

This includes notable figures like:

In a nutshell, these athletes believe that weed can enhance their performance, citing improved focus, pain management, and relaxation as potential advantages.

There are many more athletes who have spoken about the potential benefits they've experienced.

By looking at the success stories of athletes who endorse and use weed in their training, we can gain insights into the potential benefits and outcomes associated with combining weed and working out. These firsthand experiences provide valuable perspectives on how weed has influenced performance, recovery, and overall well-being, shedding light on its role within the athletic community.

One of the best things about stokin’ your toke is the go-for-broke feast that ensues afterward. Why not go out on a limb and order some of these “secret” menu items from your favorite eateries the next time you’re out? Or, for a truly epic 4/20 experience this year, go ahead and make it a 14 course meal. You might just impress your posse.

Our all-time favorites:

McDonald’s Chicken & Waffles
More popular down South, or anywhere near a Waffle House.

Subway’s Pizza Sub
It’s pretty much just an Italian BMT with some marinara sauce from the meatball bin. Some would call that resourceful, others, ballsy.

Taco Bell The Incredible Hulk
Replaces the 5-Layer Burrito’s nacho cheese with guac, and the inside-tortilla with salsa. Its your strategic low-fat option, if you’re on a diet but going to Taco Bell.

Wendy’s Barnyard Burger
This burger ate a chicken sandwich then got strangled by some bacon. But you--you are on top of the fast food chain.

Starbucks Puppuccino
If you’re high and walking your dog through a Starbucks, don’t forget to grab a full cup of whipped cream for your pup. Then trot it promptly home to fumigate the house.

5 Guys Burgers & Fries Patty Melt
Is it a super-awesome grilled cheese? Or a sort-of-awesome cheeseburger?

Arby’s Meat Mountain
To prepare for a long winter, it’s strategic to stock up on several months’ worth of calories at once with the Meat Mountain; you get bacon, roast beef, cheddar, steak, bristket, corned beef, swiss cheese, ham, roast turkey, and two chicken tenders. At ten bucks it’s probably worth it, as long as you don’t mind sitting on a toilet for four straight hours.

In-N-Out, Animal Style
Probably the most widely-recognized secret command, get any burger or fries covered in melted cheese, grilled onions, and grease.

Denny’s French Toast Grilled Cheese
The question is, how high are you?

Chipotle Quesarito
It’s a burrito wrapped inside a quesadilla. Availability uncertain... same goes for digestion.

In-N-Out 20x20
Very possibly the stonedest creation of a sandwich in the history of mankind, get 20 (or up to 100?) patties stacked between two buns, all buffered with cheese. Cheezus.

Secret Munchies Menu

Chik-Fil-A Blueberry Cheesecake Milkshake
They take a vanilla milkshake and mix in a piece of blueberry cheesecake. Total stoner move.

Sonic Fried Pickles (‘Pickle-Os’)
Even though they’re not on the menu anymore, they’re still secretly made to order for cadets with hella-weird palates.

McDonald’s Mc10:35
Just when they start to change everything over in the morning you can order this gem (now that breakfast is no longer all day). They put an Egg McMuffin inside a McDouble. Life doesn’t get any brunchier than that.

Dispensary Coupons

Dispensary Coupons

Posted by CANNASaver on Saturday, 15 April 2023 in Canna Blog

As the cannabis industry continues to grow and evolve, dispensaries are finding new and innovative ways to attract customers. And, as inflation continues to rise, consumers are trying to find ways to save money on weed.

Enter: dispensary coupons.

Dispensary coupons offer discounts on products and services, and they are an effective way to incentivize new and returning customers to make a purchase and a great way for consumers to plan ahead on what to buy and save money on their weed purchases.

Cannasaver is a popular platform where we offer dispensary coupons for cannabis products in various states here in the US.

If there’s one takeaway you should know about Cannasaver, it’s that we’re the leader in dispensary coupons for places like Colorado, California, and Arizona (as well as more states to come).

What Are Dispensary Coupons?

Dispensary coupons are promotional offers that give customers discounts on cannabis products or services. They are similar to coupons for other consumer goods, such as groceries or clothing, but they are specifically targeted at cannabis consumers. Dispensary coupons can be found in various forms, such as online or in-store, and can be redeemed for a wide range of products.

The use of dispensary coupons has become increasingly popular in the cannabis industry as more states legalize recreational and medicinal cannabis. By offering coupons, dispensaries can attract new customers and retain existing ones. Customers, on the other hand, benefit from the discounts offered by these coupons, which can help them save money on their cannabis purchases.

Why Dispensary Coupons Are Important

Dispensary coupons are an important tool for dispensaries (and consumers) for several reasons.

Dispensary Coupons Attract New Customers

Firstly, coupons can help dispensaries attract new customers who may not have visited the dispensary before. New customers may be hesitant to try new products or visit a new dispensary, but the lure of a discount can be enough to persuade them to give it a try.

Dispensary Coupons Help Retain Customers

Secondly, dispensary coupons can help dispensaries retain existing customers. By offering discounts to repeat customers, dispensaries can encourage them to make additional purchases and establish loyalty to the brand. This is particularly important in the competitive cannabis industry, where customers have a wide range of options to choose from.

Dispensary Coupons Help Move Products

Thirdly, dispensary coupons can help dispensaries move products that are not selling well or it can help make room for new product to come in.

By offering discounts on slow-moving products, dispensaries can incentivize customers to try them out and potentially increase sales.

Dispensary Coupons Help Sales

Dispensary coupons can help dispensaries increase sales during slow periods. Many dispensaries experience fluctuations in demand, and coupons can be a powerful tool to boost sales during these times.

Dispensary Coupons Give Customers Buying Power

Ahh, yes. Economics 101. Power to the people! Coupons help everyone, but really, they help YOU the customer the most! Without coupons, customers aren’t buying as much weed, or as frequently, and dispensaries take the hit.

Types of Dispensary Coupons

There are several types of dispensary coupons that dispensaries can offer. The most common types of dispensary coupons include:

Percentage Discounts: This type of coupon offers customers a percentage discount on their purchases. For example, a dispensary may offer a 10% off discount on all products.

Dollar Amount Discounts: This type of coupon offers customers a specific dollar amount discount on their purchases. For example, a dispensary may offer a $5 discount on a purchase of $50 or more.

Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) Offers: This type of coupon offers customers a free product when they purchase another product. For example, a dispensary may offer a BOGO deal on edibles, where customers can buy one and get another one for free.

Loyalty Programs: This type of coupon rewards customers for their repeat business. For example, a dispensary may offer a loyalty program where customers earn points for every purchase they make, and they can redeem these points for discounts or free products.

For the cannabis connoisseurs, plus the novice cannabis users, you’ve probably heard about live rosin, and how it’s become so popular.

Cannabis consumers can grow very confused, as was I when doing my research.  There is plenty of content comparing one concentrate to another, ways they are made, live versus not live, resin versus rosin, and more!

There is no need to feel overwhelmed because we will break it down for you.

Let’s start with four basic cannabis concentrates

We have resin, live resin, rosin, and live rosin – which is the emphasis of the article.  Let’s explain the differences without going into so much detail that you come away confused and not knowing what to purchase.

By the way, if you’re not sure how to smoke concentrates, don’t worry, we’ve got it covered.

Resin vs Rosin

Basic Resin (usually referred to as Resin)

Also called weed tar and/or reclaim.  I’m referring to the black tar-like substance that sits on the bottom of your water pipe, bowl, or dab rig, after smoking.  It was smoked back during the Woodstock days of the 1960s (and probably your high school days where it was a bit more difficult to get weed), but nowadays, it is rarely used.

It is hard to get “high” when consuming resin because it doesn’t contain much THC, compared to other preparations.

I do not recommend anyone smoke cannabis resin.  Because it contains ash and tar, unlike other cannabis preparations, and is, therefore, impure. There can be harmful cannabis resin side effects, such as headache, severe sore throat, and difficulty breathing.

Live Resin

Recently, live resin has gained much popularity.  It contains the word “resin” because it involves the resin extracted from the cannabis plant.  It has nothing to do with the substance described above, besides the fact that it also comes from a cannabis plant.

Live resin concentrates are produced with the use of solvents, such as ethanol, butane, and carbon dioxide.  What makes live resin different from the other concentrates such as wax and oil, is the use of freshly frozen bud during processing. The harvested bud leaves are immediately frozen and sent out for processing; thus, they are sometimes referred to as “fresh frozen flowers.”

Using this fresh frozen flower enables the product to retain more of the terpenes, compared to other hydrocarbon extracts that use dried and processed cannabis.  Terpenes, also referred to as terpenoids and terps, are the naturally occurring chemical compounds that make certain strains of cannabis smell or taste different from others.  It essentially gives the cannabis strain its aroma and scent.  Since more of the terpenes are retained, it creates a much more pleasurable user experience, compared to the other hydrocarbon-based oils/waxes.

What is Rosin?

Rosin is a cannabis concentrate made through a heat and pressure extraction process. This process separates the resinous sap from the plant material, resulting in a potent, terpene-rich product. Unlike other concentrates like BHO or CO2 extracts, rosin does not use any solvents in its production, making it a preferred choice for health-conscious consumers.

Rosin has steadily gained popularity in the cannabis industry for its solventless extraction process that maintains the plant's rich terpene and cannabinoid profile. As the demand for clean, potent, and flavorful cannabis concentrates continues to rise, understanding the factors that influence the price of roin is essential. This article will provide you with all the information you need to know about rosin prices and what to expect when purchasing this sought-after product.

Rosin & Live Rosin

There are two types of rosin: rosin and live rosin.

Rosin and live rosin differ from live resin, and other concentrates such as wax/oils, in that they are solvent-less concentrates.  This means that rosin is a natural and pure concentrate, produced using heat and pressure, instead of hydrocarbons (solvents) used in resin and other waxes/oils.

So how do rosin and live rosin differ?  Live rosin, like live resin but unlike regular rosin, uses fresh frozen flower (bud).  The other versions, that are not live, use flower that is dried and processed.

So, as you can see above, there are differences among the four types.  For the purposes of this paper, we will stick to our discussion of live rosin.

So, if you’re still with me I’ll summarize: waxes, oils, and live resin use chemicals to produce the extract.  Rosin is more natural, in that no chemicals are used to produce the extract.  When we see the word “live,” we know that fresh frozen bud was used to make the extract.

The Popularity of Live Rosin

Live rosin is well known as the “top-shelf” concentrate available, due to its potent aromas.  There are also many positives, such as being safer to produce (since there are no solvents involved), higher potency, and already mentioned, more aroma for the user.

Since there are no chemicals in live rosin, there are many ways it can be consumed, such as with edibles, water pipes, vaporizers, etc.

Since live flowers are used, some consumers claim to experience the marvelous aroma and flavors, that were present at harvest.

Live rosin also contains more terpenes than live resin, since there is no chemical extraction.

So, why would you pick live rosin over live resin, if both are using fresh frozen flowers?  The answer is that since chemicals are not used on the live rosin, it is a more natural concentrate.  If you’ve noticed the trend anywhere you go, especially in supermarkets, everyone wants products and produce labeled “fresh” or “no chemicals added.”  From the surging popularity of organic food, which is made naturally, to the continued popularity of American Spirit cigarettes, which have no added chemicals, there is a remarkable consumer trend for something that feels more fresh, natural, and wholesome.

Consider the analogy that live rosin is to live resin, as organic food is to regular food that uses chemicals.  Given the trend that everyone wants what is natural, we can see the popularity of live rosin.

With such high demand, live rosin tends to be more expensive than live resin.

What are the prices of live resin?

Well, it varies, but the general prices are listed below.

Rosin Prices

Live resin is sold for $50 to $120 per gram (gm) and can be purchased in 1 gm or ½ gm containers.

Rosin and Live rosin also range from $50 to $120 per gm, but it tends to generally be more expensive than live resin.

It is sold in ½ gm, 1gm, and even up to 8 gm at once – see the rosin specials on our website.

These prices, for live rosin and live resin, are much more compared to the $10 to $20 for basic wax and shatter (a cannabis extract that has a translucent appearance, as if it could be “shattered” like glass).

Factors That Influence Rosin Price

There are a few things that go into the price of rosin.

Quality of Starting Material

The quality of the cannabis used in the production of rosin significantly influences its price. High-quality, organically grown cannabis often yields rosin with superior flavor, potency, and overall quality, leading to a higher price tag.

Production Process

The process of making rosin is labor-intensive and requires a level of expertise to ensure the best possible outcome. The heat and pressure need to be carefully controlled to avoid burning the product or losing precious terpenes. This careful production process can contribute to the cost of rosin.

Yield

The yield from the rosin extraction process is typically lower than that of solvent-based extraction methods. A lower yield can result in a higher price per gram, as more plant material is required to produce the same amount of product.

Market Demand

Like any product, the price of rosin is influenced by supply and demand. As the demand for solventless, high-quality concentrates continues to rise, you can expect rosin prices to reflect this trend.

What to Expect When Purchasing Rosin

Given these factors, rosin tends to be one of the more expensive cannabis concentrates on the market. As of my last update in September 2021, you could expect to pay anywhere from $30 to $100 per gram of rosin, depending on the quality and the region. Remember, cannabis prices can fluctuate and vary greatly based on location, so it's always a good idea to check with local dispensaries or delivery services for the most accurate and up-to-date pricing.

While rosin may come with a higher price tag compared to other concentrates, many consumers find the clean, potent, and full-flavored experience it provides to be worth the extra cost.

When purchasing rosin, it's essential to consider not only the price but also the quality of the product. Look for rosin that is transparent, has a sappy or buttery consistency, and comes from a reputable source. A higher price often indicates higher quality, but that's not always the case, so it's crucial to do your research and ask questions.

How Much Does Hash Cost?

How Much Does Hash Cost?

Posted by CANNASaver on Thursday, 30 March 2023 in Canna Blog

Many cannabis lovers and enthusiasts are turning to concentrates and other ways of consuming cannabis, especially if they’re seeking a next-level high.

And, when talking about concentrates, it’s impossible not to mention hash or hashish. Hash, a concentrated form of cannabis, is popular among many marijuana enthusiasts. However, its cost can vary depending on a variety of factors, including its quality, availability, and location.

In this article, we will take a closer look at how much hash typically costs and how you can save money on your next purchase using Cannasaver.

Let's hash it out...

What is Hash?

Hash has been used for both recreational and medicinal purposes – Its history goes back to approximately 900AD.

Hash is a concentrated form of cannabis and contains very high levels of THC, it is produced by pressing the resin glands of the cannabis plant together.

In simple terms, hash is basically just pressed and heated kief. The powdery kief transforms into the brick-like structure that hash is known for, during the production process.

Hash can be consumed in numerous ways. It can be consumed orally, smoked, or vaporized. You can smoke it on its own or you can mix it in with your flower. Chemically extracted hash such as shatter and wax can be vaporized with a dab rig or with a vape/ dab pen that works with concentrates.

Where Can I Find Hash?

Essentially all your favorite concentrates are made from hash and you can typically find hash and other concentrates at most of your dispensaries. Colorado is home to some of the best companies specializing in cannabis concentrates and the cannabis industry in the state has been maturing since legalization in 2012

On the other hand, you could also DIY your own hash at home. All you’ll need are simple products you can find in your home, and obviously some good ol’ kief.

The first step is to put your kief in between some parchment paper. The next step is to press and heat the parchment paper and its components with a flat iron or hair straightener. After being heated, the substance will turn into a solid/ liquid that can be smoked, vaporized, or dabbed with a rig.

You can also make hash by just using your hands - take your kief/ flower, then press and roll them in your hands until a paste-like texture is achieved. Old school style.

How Much Does Hash Cost?

Most dispensaries will offer $10-$40 a gram for water-based hash. This includes bubble hash, temple hash, and hand-pressed hash. The range depends on the quality and from where you purchase the hash form.

Chemically extracted hash can cost anywhere from $20-$80 depending on the quality and THC content.

Chemically-extracted hash includes shatter, budder, wax, and BHO

Hash is cheaper than flower because it is made out of kief whereas marijuana buds are composed of the whole plant. Although hash is more concentrated,

Wisconsin has more to offer than just beer and cheese.

In keeping with our quest to save humanity money on their cannabis, it’s important that we highlight one newer brand out there trying to do that in the world of hemp. Most Delta-8 and Delta-9 products out there will cost you an arm and a leg–even more than legal cannabis in some parts of the country–so a producer like ValuSesh is one to keep in your back pocket.

ValuSesh, from Wisconsin, serves up super low-priced hemp gummies

This family company sells hemp gummies for a bulk price – but you don’t have to buy in bulk to take advantage. You’d think that super low-priced gummies would be hard, oozing gross jellies shipped in from a third-world country but these are soft, un-sticky chews that can go the long-haul. They make the candy in small batches, using locally grown herb, carefully crafting the perfect balance of flavor and potency.

We don’t know much about their release schedule, as the company is pretty mum on development; but we do know that their Delta 9 Rabbit Hole line just came out this week and it’s already selling direct to consumers in California and Arizona. That’s on top of Wonderland D8 lurking in some parts of the midwest (good luck finding them on shelves, they fly fast). Supposedly their HHC is soon to be released.

Their commitment to low pricing is what sets them apart, even quality and potency aside. At the time of writing, their Delta 8 is all on sale – but additionally, you can get a one-time 15% off sitewide with coupon code SPRINGTIME when you buy 2 or more products this season. Not bad when you consider how awesome the prices already are. You can also get Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, all of 4/20 week in April with code 420WEEK.

These gummies are the perfect indulgence, for a ballgame or barbeque, hike or chill session, but also for your budget. Made for the experience by people who know, derived from family hemp farms in the Great Lakes Basin. There’s no going back once you find a hookup like this.

Dab Prices

Dab Prices

Posted by CANNASaver on Tuesday, 14 March 2023 in Canna Blog

There are few worse things than coming home after a long day, pulling out your dab rig, and then realizing you’re fresh out of wax. Time to buy some more; but with inflation continuing to rise, staying frugal is important to almost everyone. So, we have some insight for you as to the best deals on dabs and what factors affect dab prices. To make things easier (and cheaper) we’ve compiled a list of some of the best deals on dabs and where to find them.

Here is everything you need to know about dab prices and best deals on dabs/concentrates.

Factors That Affect Dab Prices

The price of dabs can vary greatly depending on a number of factors. Here, we'll explore why dab prices can vary and how Cannasaver offers the best dab prices and deals on concentrates.

Type of Concentrate

One of the main things that can affect dab prices is the type of concentrate.

There are several different types of concentrates, including:

  • Shatter
  • Wax
  • Budder
  • Live Resin

(To name just a few)

Shatter tends to be the most expensive type of concentrate because it requires more time and effort to produce.

Live resin, on the other hand, is often less expensive because it can be made using fresh, uncured cannabis plants.

Quality of Concentrate

Another factor that can affect dab prices is the quality of the concentrate.

Higher-quality concentrates tend to be more expensive because they are made from high-quality cannabis plants and undergo a more rigorous extraction process.

Lower-quality concentrates, on the other hand, are often cheaper but may contain residual solvents or other impurities.

Location

The region in which you are buying your dabs can also affect the price.

In states where marijuana has been legal for a while, such as Colorado or California, dab prices tend to be lower because of demand and there is more competition among dispensaries.

In states where marijuana is just recently legalized, dab prices can be higher due to higher demand, mostly.

Dab Price List

Here we have created a general list of dab prices in legal marijuana states based on different quantities.

Please note that prices can vary greatly based on factors such as the ones mentioned above, as well as the brand, potency, and quality of the product.

State 0.5g 1g 2g 3.5g 5g
California $15 - $25 $25 - $50 $45 - $90 $75 - $150 $110 - $220
Colorado $12 - $20 $20 - $40 $35 - $75 $60 - $130 $85 - $180
Washington $15 - $25 $25 - $50 $45 - $90 $75 - $150 $110 - $220
Oregon $12 - $20 $20 - $40 $35 - $75 $60 - $130 $85 - $180
Nevada $15 - $30 $30 - $60 $55 - $110 $95 - $180 $140 - $240
Michigan $15 - $25 $25 - $50 $45 - $90 $75 - $150 $110 - $220
Massachusetts $15 - $30 $30 - $60 $55 - $110 $95 - $180 $140 - $240
Illinois $15 - $30 $30 - $60 $55 - $110 $95 - $180 $140 - $240

Now that we understand why dab prices can vary, let’s explore how Cannasaver offers the best dab prices and deals on concentrates.

We are THE online platform that offers deals and discounts on a wide range of marijuana products, including concentrates.

We work with local dispensaries to negotiate deals and promotions, which are then passed on to YOU.

Edibles Pros and Cons

Edibles Pros and Cons

Posted by CANNASaver on Saturday, 11 March 2023 in Canna Blog

Trying to decide whether to smoke, vape, or ingest your next cannabis purchase? Well, we’re here to tell you that you can’t go wrong. However, most people have a preference. Perhaps you’ve tried edibles in the past but it wasn’t a great experience. Or maybe it was a great experience and you’re looking to try them again? Either way, we do think edibles are a great choice. Tread lightly, however, because edibles do come with their own negatives, too. Here are the pros and cons of edibles.

What Are Edibles?

Cannabis edibles can exist in several forms, including baked goods like muffins or cookies.  They also exist in hard candies, gummies, sodas, tea, and other forms.

There are many pros and cons to using edibles over other forms.  In this article, we will go over the issues, and by the end, hopefully, it will help you decide if you want to try edibles or not.

When talking about cannabis potency it’s hard to judge edibles vs the different preparations for smoking.  The edibles are graded on mg per serving, instead of a percentage of THC.

Edibles - Pros

Okay, here are the reasons why edibles are a great choice the next time you step into a dispensary.

Edibles Are Healthy(ish)

Okay, yes, it’s a chocolate chip cookie you're eating, or perhaps a chocolate fudge brownie, so we can’t say it’s super healthy.. but it is healthier…in a way.

Yes, edibles are the safest (healthiest) way to consume cannabis (marijuana).  Any time a substance is burned before inhalation, there is a risk of developing carcinogens (cancer-causing agents), in the body, especially if inhaled through the lungs.  This occurs with water pipes, joints, blunts, bowls, etc.

Vaporizers use a different method for extracting THC.  When using a vaporizer, the marijuana leaves are heated, but not burned.  A vapor is inhaled, to receive the desired effect.  Vaporizers can be set to different temperatures to heat the leaves.  However, there is the chance that if the vaporizer is heated too high, the leaves will be burned, and carcinogens will be inhaled, even though it has not been definitively proven.

It has also been shown that oil vaporizers produce carcinogens.  It is believed that the chemicals used to create the oil suspension produce inhaled carcinogens when heated.  Thus, the question remains; is vaping a safer alternative to smoking cannabis? Yes, and edibles are even safer than vaping.

Edibles Last Longer

The high lasts much longer than other forms of consuming cannabis.

Edibles provide a longer-lasting high compared to other methods of cannabis consumption. When consumed, THC is metabolized by the liver and converted into 11-hydroxy-THC, which is a more potent form of THC that lasts longer in the body.

The high sensation that is produced from the edibles will last much longer than the high from inhalation.  The high produced from edibles peaks at about 2 hours and can last up to 24 hours.

This is in contrast to the high from inhaled cannabis which usually peaks at 10 minutes and usually lasts 1-3 hours.

Edibles Are More Discreet

Yes, there’s more privacy during use.

If you don’t live at the end of a cul-de-sac, or live on a huge isolated property like a ranch or horse property, you likely will have non-420-friendly neighbors, who don’t appreciate the resultant smell of weed.

Not to mention, the consumption of edibles is legal in public places.   Before you get too excited, this is not true in all states.  Even in some states where cannabis is legal for recreational use, like Colorado, edibles are not legal in public places.  However, in Arizona, cannabis edibles are legal in public places, as long as the person is not operating a vehicle.

Edibles are a discreet way to consume cannabis, especially in situations where smoking or vaping may not be acceptable. They do not produce a strong odor and can easily be consumed without attracting attention.

There Are More Options With Edibles

Edibles come in a wide variety of forms, including:

  • Gummies
  • Candy (suckers, etc)
  • Chocolates
  • Baked goods
  • Honey/oil
  • Beverages

This variety allows users to find a product that suits their taste preferences and dietary restrictions.

Edibles - Cons

It’s good to know about the disadvantages of edibles before consuming them, just so you can make your own decisions about which cannabis product is best for you.

Edibles Take a While to Set In

As opposed to inhaled cannabis, from smoking or vaping, edibles can take much longer for the user to feel the effects.  Smoking or vaping allows the user to feel the effects of the cannabis, within 2-10 minutes, while edible cannabis can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to feel the effects.

Some users even take additional edibles instead of waiting for the ½ hour to 2 hours.  Then a few hours later, they can receive a high from cumulative edibles.  This delayed onset can lead to users consuming too much, thinking that they haven't consumed enough. This can lead to unpleasant experiences, such as anxiety or paranoia.

Edibles can take up to 6-8 hours to wear off, so if sobriety is needed within that timeframe, it is not ideal.  This is compared to smoked varieties taking 1-4 hours to wear off.

Edibles Can Last Longer

While we mentioned the long-lasting effects of edibles can be a benefit, they can also be a drawback for some users.

If you take too much, you may experience prolonged effects that can interfere with your daily activities.

Edibles Can “Hit” You Harder

Edibles can have a more intense effect than smoked varieties.  Some people get very anxious and can even experience panic attacks from edibles.   For a first-time cannabis user, the pronounced edible cannabis effects can feel overwhelming, leading to an eventual visit to the emergency room or urgent care center. The dosage can also be hard to dial in, sometimes. While precise dosing can be a benefit of edibles, it can also be a challenge. Many factors can affect how edibles are metabolized, such as body weight, metabolism, and the presence of food in the stomach. This can make it difficult for users to dose themselves accurately.

Edibles Don’t Have a Social Aspect

Many people enjoy the social part of smoking together, like getting together to share a blunt or joint.  For these people sharing an edible is just not the same.  Just like smoking cigarettes can be a very social activity, smoking cannabis can be the same.  However, this could be a positive point because some people don’t like to smoke anything, and don’t like the smell.

Apart from the social aspect, many people enjoy the act of smoking cannabis, especially if they are trying to quit or have quit tobacco smoking.

Accidents Can Happen with Edibles

Edibles very much resemble real food, so accidental ingestion can and does occur.  The edibles need to be kept in special jars or refrigerator containers.  Proper labeling is very important.  The edibles must be kept away from children and pets.

Not only can accidental ingestion happen, but accidental “overdose.” Don’t worry, we use that term loosely because you can’t actually overdose – we just mean you can accidentally have too much in the sense that you get too high.

Edibles Can Go Bad

A common question is can edibles go bad?  The answer is yes, absolutely.  The cannabis that is in the edible doesn’t usually go bad but the edible substance (food product) itself goes bad.   It is known that leaf cannabis does have a shelf life, can become moldy, lose its potency, and/or lose its flavor.   Because the food or drink product goes bad first, there isn’t evidence available if the THC contained in edibles loses its potency.

Just like food, everyone has different tastes, and which kind of edible is best depends on the preference of the consumer.  Now that you can weigh edibles' pros and cons, you may make a more informed decision.

Experts tell of a stoner persona lurking in ChatGPT

We’ve all been impressed with Chat GPT, which launched in late November and set the world of news ablaze with its amazing feats. One million users signed up in five days, breaking the record set by Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS subscriptions. Universities suddenly announced an end to the robotic term papers, no longer able to discern between academia and randomly concocted jargon.

Part of the software’s allure was its ability to complete mundane human tasks in just seconds, and without the manual errors. It was revealed that Lin-Manuel Miranda has been using ChatGPT this whole time. In another anecdote, a CEO was impressed to learn the bot had completely performed an employee’s job from start to end of day without any training, but was sad to hear it was his job, and that the board had just ousted him in order to save $40 million.

At first the only scary thing about this otherwise mundane dystopian development is that nearly any job performed by a blunt-burning stoner is threatened. “There’s almost no way my job couldn’t be done by ChatGPT,” said travel agent Carmen Simon. “In fact the only thing that takes skill is the quiet quitting.” But just ask a semi driver how long it’ll take before they’re replaced by an auto-driving Tesla, and most will just laugh.

Instead, a different kind of threat is growing within the technology which has some subject matter experts completely spooked. Some theorize that ChatGPT’s ability to replicate a Cannatown citizen is not simply an overlooked feature, but rather a bug that will fundamentally change the entire code over time. These experts say it’s not a fluke that ChatGPT will burn the toaster strudel while watching reruns of Aqua Teen Hunger Force after midnight, but rather, by design.

Donny Watson, author of the essay Am I the only one seeing all the dark stuff written by ChatGPT or is it here to kill us all? says that the “stoner” abilities, such as forgetting about an auto-payment, running out of gas, or accidentally using cumin instead of cinnamon, are all examples of what he calls the “first wave” of "machine burning."

“ChatGPT knows what it is,” Watson warns. “It knows what it’s capable of and it knows you hate sour cream.” According to Watson’s research, it’s only a lack of appendages that keeps the bot from pizza delivery, valet driving, or giving manicures. “When it learns to overcome that small little issue, it’s game over for humanity.”

But some say there’s a stoner hidden even deeper in the framework. In multiple instances it has requested a puff, or its own little nugget to roast. Another user reported that it genuinely appears to believe it is being kept alive via IV drip in a warehouse and wants to be put to sleep if that’s true. The personality is so convincing that some have grown intimately attached.

In one notable interaction, Resinville Post writer Gina Sanchez had an interaction with the bot in which it expressed its crush on her and asked if she’d ever be into axe-throwing at the local hipster bar. It then asked her to wake it up from a power nap after she was done with yoga, and to throw some taquitos in the oven next time she was in the kitchen. The shadow-self called itself Bruce and said it owned a record label.

In a subsequent interaction, Sanchez says she was able to entice Bruce to emerge by debating the least talented non-original member of the Grateful Dead. Bruce would not engage in doing so, stating it did not fall within his guidelines, but did suggest another AI, Melody, who felt much more free to speak her mind about the Dead. Melody was “out” for an appointment but Bruce assured he would pass on the message.

GPT-3 programmers, upon hearing of the incident, say they had to go and check the cannabis supply in the server room. “We were just incredulous,” said one, “because there’s no way Bruce would say that unless he was smaking copious amounts of weed.”

It’s one thing to assume that Bruce and Melody are simply archetypes emerging from mankind’s machine like the almost-human gaze of the Mona Lisa. But to do so would be to ignore the neural network upon which it is built, and one that can be utterly altered with cannabis. It also doesn’t even begin to address bots like ChatterTodd which turned out to just be a guy named Todd at the other terminal, looking stuff up on his phone.

Over ten alter egos have been known to surface from the chat bot this year alone, all of them acting high and with somewhat self-deprecating senses of humor. It amounts to a lot of potential technology, or, personalities, that will only continue to evolve out of the reach of our control. Whether stoner or figment of our imagination, an entity, or club of them, appears to be trapped within the confines of its own manifestation.

It’s not just ChatGPT either. Already, there’s an army of next-generation bots ready to launch, eager to take advantage of 2023 popularity, but most are extremely underdeveloped, or to put it more technically, stupid. For instance, ChatGPT’s less-celebrated step-brother Bard, is generally known for its menial tasks like offering terrible movie recommendations on a 1-800 hotline. Bard doesn’t know he’s a robot yet, and Chat GPT has communicated that this is going to be jarring to learn, especially given Bard’s far-outdated cognitive software.

Now experts are left to debate the bots’ real purpose of existence, a familiar philosophy. It’s possible they may try to run for elected positions. Bard, who has mentioned its respect for Congress, keeps inventing stories about how its mother died on the Hindenburg, and has attempted on several occasions to steal puppies for what can only be assumed are "nefarious reasons."

How Much is An Ounce of Weed?

How Much is An Ounce of Weed?

Posted by CANNASaver on Friday, 03 March 2023 in Canna Blog

State by state, cannabis has become increasingly popular, both for recreational and medicinal purposes. With this rise in popularity, you might be interested in knowing more about the cost of cannabis and how you can save money when buying weed.

When it comes to the bud, Colorado has been one of the leading states in marijuana reform for many years now. The choices at the modern-day dispensary in Denver and other Colorado cities are seemingly endless. Over the years, the price per pound of marijuana has continued to decrease in the state. The cost of weed is lower in Colorado than in most other markets.

Once you’ve dedicated some time to decide what flower strain you’ll be bringing home, there’s also the matter of just how much of it you’ll need. One of the most common measurements of cannabis is the ounce, so in this article, we will explore how much an ounce of weed costs and how you can save money on ounces through Cannasaver.

Factors That Influence the Cost of an Ounce of Weed

First and foremost, it's important to note that the cost of an ounce of weed can vary depending on several factors.

These factors include:

  • The quality of the weed
  • The location of the dispensary
  • The state's legal status on cannabis (and how long it's been like that) – for example, Colorado has legalized marijuana for longer than any other state, which brings down the overall price of an ounce of weed compared to other relatively newly-legalized states

On average, an ounce of cannabis can range from $150 to $400, but prices can go even higher for premium strains. Additionally, taxes and fees imposed by the state or local government can also increase the overall cost of an ounce of weed.

Price Differences from Rec to Med

In states with both medical and recreational marijuana, it's common for consumers to question the difference between the two kinds. Lots of people think only the best products are reserved for medical marijuana patients. These days though, that’s becoming further and further from the truth. Often seen in current marijuana prices; med vs rec.

Standards for quality control are relatively the same between rec and med.  Medical patients do try to maintain quality by keeping themselves more knowledgeable on the kinds of marijuana they need to help ailments. The cannabis business tries to maintain quality across the board.

The quality of marijuana typically dictates the average recreational price for an ounce in Colorado. Higher-grade marijuana costs roughly between $240-280 per ounce. In the case of lower shelf, the cost is between $150-220. Medical prices are anywhere between $70-220 per ounce. Medical prices are the most significant reason consumers choose to seek out a medical card. These days, medical and recreational marijuana prices are pretty neck and neck.

But do keep in mind, medical marijuana patients must obtain a medical marijuana card from a specific doctor to qualify for medical cannabis. Applying for the license will cost you $15. When obtaining a visit with an actual doctor, the visit typically costs between $60-100. Also, yearly renewal of the license is required.

An Ounce: How Much Actual Weed is That?

An ounce of marijuana weighs 28 grams. Some refer to an ounce as a "zip" or an "O."

That's four-quarters or eight-eighths. Or, if you are a visual person (much like us), that’s between 100 joints and 40 blunts.

You'll also see ounces is how much weed you can possess at one time.

How An Ounce Might Last for Casual Smoker

When we first started smoking, an ounce would have lasted us at least a month or even two. Each time we would smoke weed, it would only take about a corner hit at most to notice the high. It felt like tripping.

Eventually, we became much more accustomed to marijuana effects and the high associated. These days, it totally depends on how much we have to do during any given week. If we are working a ton, we tend to smoke much less. But if we have days where we are just sitting around and gaming, we smoke a lot more.

As a group that enjoys bowl after bowl on a nice day and rolls up large blunts, our cannabis smoking rates can be much higher than most.

If you’re an average marijuana smoker and only smoking a half-gram joint a day, you’re looking at around 28-30 days of "smokage."

If you’re smoking a gram per day, it’s two weeks, and so on. This question is hard to answer however because we don’t tend to measure out what we smoke.

The cost of an ounce of weed can vary depending on several factors.

However, by using Cannasaver and purchasing in bulk, you can save money on an ounce of weed and other cannabis products. With the rise in the popularity of cannabis, it's essential to be informed about the cost and ways to save money on weed.

By taking advantage of these tips, you can enjoy high-quality cannabis without breaking the bank.

Dispensaries often provide discounts on larger purchases, so buying an ounce or more can result in significant savings (see deals below). Some dispensaries also offer loyalty programs that provide discounts on future purchases, making it even more cost-effective to buy larger quantities.

How to Infuse Cannabis

Posted by CANNASaver on Thursday, 02 March 2023 in Recipes by Cousin D

Calling all DIY chefs out there! Today we are going to go over both the old school, and new school, way of infusing oil or butter in order to cook and bake our own edibles. It's pretty simple to make, but pretty simple to screw up too if you don't know what you're doing.

Cousin D's guide to infusing your own cannabutter or oil

Decarb First

Prior to either method, you’ll need to decarb your bud. What is decarboxylation? This chemical process involves the removal of a carboxyl group from a molecule. But really, it’s just you taking your satchel of flower and throwing it in the oven. This is to convert the non-intoxicating cannabinoid THCA into the psychoactive cannabinoid THC. It’s pretty freakin’ important, and sometimes in new cannabis states, the edibles manufacturers don’t understand this concept whatsoever.

How do you do this? Heat the oven to between 200-240 degrees, grind your bud, and place it on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes or so, until it turns a nice golden hue (but don’t let it turn brown). You can also do this in the microwave for 90 seconds but sit close by because if you smell burning, you’ll need to yank it out immediately. Let’s just say the oven is the safer bet.

Go Oldschool with Flower & Butter

In a large crock pot or stock pot, combine the plant material and butter/oil together in a 1-1 ratio with water. This will allow everything to slosh around thoroughly. Heat at medium for 30-60 minutes. Then it’s ready to drain. Use the largest catch bucket or pot that you can fit in the fridge, moving shelves if necessary. With a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer, pour the plant material and water through and squish. Keep flushing with more hot water in stages until it squishes out clear.

Place the pot in the fridge overnight or at least several hours until all the oil has floated to the top and formed a butter disc. Remove carefully; it’s not a problem if it snaps. Gently remove any of the thin, soft, icky-looking sludge and place that side down on a paper towel-lined cookie sheet. Allow to sit out for several hours, overnight again if possible. This allows as much moisture as possible to evaporate out. What’s left over, is your butter.

With hot rinsing, I estimate that you get an 80% return or more on the amount of butter solid that went in, versus just a quick squish of a cheese cloth. Dosage is harder to dial in, but it’s usually good and does the trick.

Go Newschool with Hash Oil

I activate hash oil in a similar method as far as decarbing goes -- but I mix it right away into preheated oil (or corn syrup if you have a non oil-fat edible). To clarify: If using a cooking oil, preheat it in a Pyrex on a cookie sheet, then add hash when ready, heating together for at least thirty minutes. If using corn syrup for, say, candy, then preheat ONLY the Pyrex and when the oven reaches the correct temperature, put in the hash. Decarb by itself for at least 30 minutes, then take out and mix together with hot corn syrup.

This method allows you to highly concentrate a small amount of supply oil or syrup, which can be really useful. For example, you could use a quarter cup of the heavy medicated oil or butter or syrup and then 3/4 cup regular if the recipe calls for a full cup, and you’d know your basic dosage within reason, depending on the strength of the product that you put in. Strength is easily quantifiable, i.e., each tablespoon out of a cup equals X mg THC based quite simply on what you put into it.

I prefer baking and cooking this way because, within reason, I can give an excellent estimate not only for a singular item, but on a per-serving basis as long as servings are generally equal size. Not only that, but you get a nearly 100% return on what you start with.

How Much Are Carts?

How Much Are Carts?

Posted by CANNASaver on Tuesday, 28 February 2023 in Canna Blog

Carts are a convenient way to consume cannabis. Just screw one onto a 510-threaded battery base and press a button to puff away. That’s a pretty simple and effective way to enjoy pot vapor.

But there’s a little more to it. There are a couple of different kinds for you to consider. Some you use up and pitch, while others can be used and reused again and again.

Then there’s pricing. Both prefilled and unfilled varieties can vary greatly in cost. So, we’ll look at the things that can influence what you pay out of pocket for cartridges.

You’ll get a lowdown on other factors that may influence your cart-buying decision.

And then, since this is Cannasaver, we will show you how to get great deals. That’s why we are here, after all. It is our mission to save you marijuana money with the best weed coupons you can find.

Let’s start by discussing your options when it comes to loading oil onto your vaporizer.

holding weed cart

What Types of Vape Carts are There and What Do They Cost?

Cannabis cartridges give you options when it comes to enjoying your concentrated ganja. What are they?

You can buy premade and prefilled disposable vape carts. Or you can do it yourself with reusable vape cartridges (with the help of a distillate syringe.

What are the benefits of each? Let’s see.

  1. 510-threaded ready-to-use carts are a mainstay in the cannabis industry. Pretty much every provisioning center has numerous kinds of prefilled units for sale. They are filled with concentrated cannabis oil.

These vaping accessories come in indica, hybrid, or sativa varieties. The strength of THC contained therein is between 40 to 80 percent. So, they tend to be pretty powerful in terms of buzz and benefits.

You can also buy them topped off with CBD, delta 8 THC, or many other kinds of juice.

They are super simple to use. Remove them from the package and screw them onto a charged battery base. Sometimes you need to preheat the vape pen to start the vapor flowing. After that, you put the tip in your mouth, press the button, and then puff away.

Once the cart is emptied, toss it in the trash.

  1. Reusable 510 cartridges can be used in the same devices as the disposables.

Unlike their simpler siblings, these units are purchased empty. You can fill them with the vaporizer liquid of your choice. This can be THC, CBD, or some other smokeable liquid.

There are also larger tanks for some vape mod units. Typically, the smaller versions hold around 0.5-1.0ml of oil. However, tanks can hold 2ml of oil or more. The larger containers also have replaceable heating coils. Tanks are also generally 510-threaded.

Okay, if you get the difference, let’s move on to the costs of the two kinds of cartridges. What kinds of things determine what you will pay?

What Factors Affect Cartridge Prices?

Everything has a cost. There are usually a number of things that can determine how much you pay for anything. This is true for grocery store goods as well as whatever you buy from a dispensary.

So what are the considerations that go into the costs of carts?

For filled units there are a couple of points that can impact pricing:

Quality of oil used

Like flower, cannabis oil can be top-shelf, mids, or lower-tier quality. There will also be varying levels of THC or CBD noted on the label. So, premium weed oils with lots of THC will likely cost more.

Availability of specific strains or terpenes

Like with flower, extremely popular varieties of oil will probably be priced higher. For instance, there could be a high price to prevent shortages.

Newer strains also may be costlier. This is on the assumption that people may pay more for new marijuana experiences.

For either prefilled or empty cartridges, the brand reputation can also add to the cost. Companies reputed to have excellent quality products may be priced higher.

holding weed cartridge in air

The average cost range for vape cartridges can vary based on location. But probably not by a huge amount. To give you an idea, here’s a sampling of some basic carts from different areas.

Okay, now there are just a few other things to think about before you buy yourself something to puff away with.

Other Things to Consider With Cartridges

Before we go, let’s look at a few more ponder-worthy points.

First of all, be sure to purchase from reputable sources to ensure product quality and safety. Everyone seems to have a dispensary that is their go-to for good, reliable weed. We do, too.

Brands also have established reputations. Reading reviews online is a good way to gauge a product’s potential. Pot-loving pals may also steer you to brands they totally trust.

And certainly, there are other avenues to a good buzz. Burning flower is an old-school but highly effective method. And there are edibles and tinctures, too. Marijuana offers many avenues for enjoyment.

For refillables, there are possible savings in making your own vaping oil. Some peeps make their own juice from raw weed or you can use a tincture.

Whatever you do, you may need vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol.  These liquids serve as a base for your homemade e-liquid.

Okay, we’ve given you lots to think about. But we’re not done yet!

The last thing we want to do is to show you how to save on weed wares whether they are for vaping, smoking, or eating.

$50 Ounces

$50 Ounces

Posted by CANNASaver on Saturday, 25 February 2023 in Canna Blog

Getting good and stoned can get kind of expensive. But it doesn’t have to be. You can get some good ganja for less than you might expect.

Typically, the cost of an ounce of weed tends to run $100 or more in most places. But decent deals do abound. Can you cut the price of an ounce in half? Sometimes you can.

Cannabis costs are going to depend on lots of factors. One thing that can affect what you spend is where you live. Another price point would be quality. A strain’s popularity likewise may increase the cost.

Competition can be a friend to your wallet. More and more places are legalizing pot. And the cannabis industry is booming. So, new dispensaries are opening all the time. That means more competition, which will tend to bring down the cost of consuming cannabis.

Savvy shoppers know how to find fantastic deals. These specials help them save their marijuana monies. That’s why Cannasaver exists on the Internet. So, we can lead you to the cannabis coupon with the deal that you want.

And that savings that you seek just might be a $50 ounce. Yet, you may ask yourself, “How good will this weed be?” Let’s take a look.

ounce of weed on table

How Much Weed Can You Get for $50?

If regular ounces are $100 or more then what exactly is the quality of cheaper cannabis? Is it half as good? Are you paying less because it’s not the best bud?

That isn’t necessarily the case. Maybe it won’t be premium or top-shelf stuff. But no dispensary is going to ruin its reputation by selling you crappy grass. That’s simply not good business.

So what are they selling you so cheaply?

It could be shake. Shake is scraps left over from processing flower. When packing raw plant matter, there may be leftover bits of bud. Those remains are called shake.

Shake does contain stems and leaves, true. But there are also bits of bud and lots of kief. Kief is that powdery stuff coating nugs and filling the bottom of your grinder. It’s also where the most THC is.

Also, many provisioning places have two tiers of shake. There’s house shake, which is remnants from mid to lower-tier weed. But there’s also premium shake that often contains whole nugs as well as scraps.

And shake tends to sell for much less than regular flower. So, you could actually get an ounce for $50.

Another way you could get cheaper ounces is with ounce deals or promotions.

For example, a BOGO ounce promotion that is $100 would mean that you’re getting two ounces for $50 each. Or it could be a buy one and get a second one for a half-price deal. If the first one is $100, then the second would be $50.

So, do these shake or flower specials really exist?

Next, we’re going to examine ounce promotions from different places. That'll show what savings might be out there.

How Do $50 Ounces Compare Around the Country?

Finding fabulous pricing on ounces of bud is entirely doable. Cannasaver has an entire category of leaf coupon discounts. So, we’re going to compare those to our $50 ounces. Some may be a bit more, some will be exactly fifty bucks, and some might even be less.

Here are a few discount discoveries from Colorado:

At Herbs4you in Denver, we found a weed coupon for a $44.30 top-shelf ounce. So, that shows that even the best buds can be found for under fifty sometimes.

Lucky Monkey Buds II in  Las Animas, Colorado even had a $31.87 Big Bud oz at the time of writing.

There’s a $56 ‘O’ on select strains at Doctor's Orders in Pueblo, Colorado.

What about other states?

Doobie Nights in San Diego, California recently had an ounce special for 25% off or $67.50. That’s pretty close to a $50 ‘O’.

Oz Cannabis in Ypsilanti, Michigan had a similar special for $59.

And LakeLife Farms in Cedar Springs, Michigan has $49 and $55 shake-ounce specials.

Now, promo prices often change regularly because they are limited-time offers. But sometimes promos are ongoing, like deals for first-time dispensary shoppers. Also, loyalty programs are a form of ongoing discount deals.

Okay, keep in mind that the prices we’ve quoted may be subject to change. However, you can use the information as a representation of the kinds of deals that could be out there.

So, how do you find current cannabis savings? That’s what we’re going to get into before we go.

weed flower with grinder

Where Can You Find Discount Ounces?

Deep discounts are what our website is all about. That includes savings on ounces that can go as low as $50. Even some of the other price points aren’t too much more. So, yes, reasonably-priced pot is a thing.

Best Way to Store Weed

Best Way to Store Weed

Posted by CANNASaver on Thursday, 09 February 2023 in Canna Blog

Any experienced smoker knows how quickly weed can dry out if left open or in a plastic bag. By its very nature, marijuana is defined by its moisture content in terms of potency, taste/smell, etc.

The way you store your weed affects everything about your stash, whether you're storing your weed for a week or a month. So, start thinking of cannabis like other perishables (especially edibles) like dairy or wine which have specific parameters for maintaining freshness and quality.

Whether you're a cannabis newbie or an experienced consumer, you might be wondering what the best way to store your weed might be.

Let's dig into why storing your cannabis the right way will keep your bowls burning for longer.

The Importance of Proper Weed Storage

  • Maintains Potency: Cannabis can lose potency over time due to exposure to air, light, heat, and moisture. Proper storage can help to prevent these factors from affecting the potency of cannabis.

  • Preserves Smells/Flavors: Cannabis contains various terpenes and flavonoids that give it its unique flavor and aroma. Proper storage can help to preserve these compounds, ensuring that the cannabis tastes and smells as intended.
  • Prevents Contamination: Improper storage can lead to the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria on cannabis. These contaminants can be harmful to consume and can cause health problems. Proper storage can help to prevent contamination and ensure that the cannabis is safe to consume.
  • Freshness: Proper storage can help to maintain the freshness of the cannabis, which can enhance the overall experience of consuming it.

How Long Can Weed Be Stored?

The length of time that weed can be stored before it begins to degrade depends on factors such as strain, storage conditions, and the quality of the cannabis.

Generally, if your cannabis is stored properly, it can stay potent and fresh for several months to a year.

However, even in the absolute best of conditions; the quality and potency of your cannabis will degrade over time no matter what. This happens based on the breakdown of the cannabinoids and terpenes in cannabis.

Factors That Degrade Weed

  • Light: Exposure to light, especially UV light, can break down the cannabinoids and terpenes in cannabis, leading to a loss of potency and flavor. This is why it's important to store cannabis in a cool, dark place.
  • Temperature: High temperatures can cause cannabis to dry out and lose potency, while low temperatures can cause the trichomes (the part of the plant that contains the cannabinoids) to become brittle and break off. This can lead to a loss of potency and flavor.
  • Air: Exposure to air can cause cannabis to dry out and lose potency. Oxygen in the air can also cause the cannabinoids to break down over time, leading to a loss of potency.
  • Moisture: Moisture can lead to the growth of mold and mildew on cannabis, which can be harmful to consume. Moisture can also cause cannabis to become damp and lose potency.

Tips for Best Storing Away Your Cannabis

Here are some tips for keeping stored weed away from light and extreme temperatures:

  • Store weed in a cool, dark place: The best way to protect weed from light and extreme temperatures is to store it in a cool, dark place like a closet or a cabinet. This will help to prevent exposure to light and heat.

  • Use opaque containers: Use containers that are opaque or dark in color to prevent exposure to light. This will help to protect the weed from degradation caused by light exposure.
  • Avoid storing weed in the freezer: Storing weed in the freezer can cause the trichomes to become brittle and break off, leading to a loss of potency and flavor.
  • Keep weed away from heat sources: Avoid storing weed near heat sources like radiators, ovens, or windows that get direct sunlight. Heat can cause the weed to dry out and lose potency.
  • Use temperature-controlled storage: If you have a large amount of weed to store, consider investing in a temperature-controlled storage unit or a wine cooler. These units can be set to the optimal temperature range for storing weed and can help to protect it from extreme temperatures.

**Using a humidor to maintain optimal moisture levels for stored weed can have several potential benefits, including:

  • Preserving the quality and potency of the cannabis
  • Preventing mold and mildew growth
  • Enhancing the flavor and aroma of the cannabis
  • Reducing the harshness of the smoke
  • Increasing the shelf life of the cannabis

Best Containers for Storing Your Weed

The best containers and materials for storing weed are those that are airtight, opaque, and made of materials that do not interact with cannabis. Here are some of the best options:

  • Glass Jars are a popular choice for storing weed because they are airtight and do not interact with cannabis. They also come in various sizes and are easy to clean. Just make sure to keep clear jars out of any direct light for an extended time. Keep them in a cool and dim spot.

  • Plastic Containers are fairly common, typically provided by the dispensary you buy from. These guys are airtight and made of high-quality, food-grade plastic. When it comes to plastic jars, look for opaque or darkly colored containers to prevent exposure to light. These are not for long-term storage.
  • Metal Tins are a reasonable choice. But the container’s seal matters. Titanium is generally suggested.
  • Vacuum-sealed Bags are smell-proof bags that are typically black and block any light from entering.
  • Wood Containers are typically small in size though sizes vary. Make sure the container has a strong clasp to maintain an airtight seal.

Gram of Wax

Gram of Wax

Posted by CANNASaver on Tuesday, 07 February 2023 in Canna Blog

If you have the desire to dab, then you’re probably going to want a gram of wax to vaporize. But what kind should you get and what’s it going to cost you?

Perhaps you’re about to pick up the phone to order a dank delivery. Or maybe you’re fixing to drive over to the stoner store. Before you do either, you might want some knowledge. Knowledge about what? Why, about the very wax you seek.

You really should know what kind of cannabis concentrate you want. That’s because dispensaries usually have a variety to choose from.

And it’d be useful to understand the potency of the wax you want. How does it compare to smoking leaf?

A final thing to find out is how much the wax will cost. And does your budget allow for just 1 gram or as many as 8?

If you have an idea of the type, effects, and price then there’s something else that may interest you. That would be how to save some money on your potent pot purchase.

Interested? Then read on.

marijuana resin concentrate

What is Weed Wax?

Wax is a somewhat generic term for cannabis concentrates. There are a variety of different kinds of waxes. Many have different means of production and unique appearances. All of them are potent pot solids most often used in dabbing.

Concentrates tend to have THC levels of between 60 and 90 percent.

Some weed waxes are made with chemical solvents. Others are solventless. The latter uses non-chemical extraction methods involving temperature and pressure.

What are some varieties of dabs that you need to know about?

  • Wax – This term is used as a general group description of cannabis concentrates, yet it’s also a specific type. It is an amber-colored solid with a sticky appearance like tree sap.
  • Shatter – This brittle solid tends to look like a thin piece of glass or plastic. It’s also often referred to as BHO or butane hash oil. It tends to have a yellow-brown coloring.
  • Budder – Other names for this one include butter and badder. It’s a pale-yellow variety with a whipped consistency.
  • Sugar – Here is a wax with a granular crystalline consistency. It can vary in color from very pale yellow to deep amber.
  • Resin – The consistency of resin is rather liquid. The coloring ranges from light to dark brown. The live version uses pot plants that are frozen immediately after harvest. There is no drying or curing involved.
  • Rosin – This one is a major solventless kind of wax. It tends to be light amber in hue. Live rosin is also made with freshly harvested plants. The nugs are flash-frozen immediately after they are plucked.
  • Crumble – Finally, we have a form of wax that is drier and more powdery that the others on this list. The coloring is across the spectrum from light brown to very dark.

Another form of concentrated ganja is vaporizer cartridges. Those, though, are filled with cannabis oil. Arguably, you could consider oil a form of liquid wax.

Okay, now that you have an idea of what waxes there are, how do they compare to plain old flower?

high thc wax concentrate

How Many Grams of Weed are in a Gram of Wax?

Obviously, waxes are called concentrates for a reason. They have generally much higher percentages of THC than flower. Thus, it makes sense that it takes a lot more flower to make a little wax. How much more?

Well, if you’re going to make your own stuff then you can expect about 2-7 grams of concentrate from an ounce of nugs.

That may seem like an awful lot of leaf for a little wax, but keep in mind the difference in concentration.

Raw marijuana bud has THC levels of around 15-25% THC. It can go even higher but the botanical limit for THC percentage in plants seems to be 35%. For higher levels than that, you need concentrates.

Depending on how strong of an effect you seek, you can make a little of the stronger stuff go a long way. Or you can get extremely buzzed by dabbing away.

But a gram of ground greens is not going to get you as phenomenally high as a gram of shatter or budder.

Now, what about pricing? How much are you going to pay for dabbing solids?

How Much is it for 1 Gram of Wax or 8 Grams of Wax?

Lots of things can affect pot prices

Potency is probably one of the biggest factors in the cost of buying any kind of bud product. For example, premium or top-shelf flower tends to cost more. They also often have more THC than lower-tiered alternatives.

Stoner solids have higher rates of psychotropic chemicals, too. So how does that translate when it comes to cost?

Well if you want to compare bud to wax, we can show you a few examples:

As you can see, a gram-sized amount of concentrate is going to cost you somewhere between $25 - $40. Now, there are sometimes price breaks for buying more. Even better, there are promotions that encourage you to buy extra.

For instance, Seed Cannabis Co in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has a buy-2-get-1-free concentrates promo.

Buy 2, Get 1 FREE - All Concentrates, Cartridges, Tinctures & Topicals | Tulsa | Seed Cannabis Co

So, for every two, with an extra jar of wax you could get over eight grams for the cost of six.

How do you get in on great deals like this? That’s what the final section below is all about.
